Team A moves to Lautoka

During their time in Lautoka the team had many opportunities to share Christ through the different ministry they were involved in. They shared in Churches, visited Old Folks Home, painted a waiting room in the hospital, prayed for healing at Marine Reach, did a bibles study with their neighbours and visited the inmates in the men's prison.

This stretch of time was tough on this team and challenges they faced were difficult but through it all they perserved and continued to love each other. The growth we saw in each of them was incredible.

Lautoka Hospital Project

Vini who is the base director at the YWAM Personal Transformation Center had a vision to repair and paint the mothers waiting room in the Children's ward at the hospital. She asked if our team would be willing to help with this project and of course, we saw it a privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus at the Lautoka Hospital.

After taking a look at the room and the adjoining, they knew it was going to require many hours of prep and physical work. But each member of the team including the children were excited and committed to completing this wonderful project.

Throughout the week while working on the room, we always had people dropping by curious about what we were doing. This was a great opportunity to share with them the love of Jesus and also be able to pray for them and the healing of their children. We began to see familiar faces and were able to build some great relationships during this time. At the end of the project we invited them all to come and we spent time worshipping, praying and dedicating this room to God.

On the last day the local Fiji newspaper came and took a picture of the team along with the scripture verses we had painted on the wall proclaiming Jesus promises of healing. We would like to also say a special thank you to Doris Greyeyes who contributed financially to the project making it possible.

What an awesome opportunity... it was a very special time.

Old Folks Home

Twice a week for 3 weeks, Trevor and Janet visited an old folks home with a local pastor who helped to interpret. On occasion some of the children joined them and spent time colouring pictures to give away to the old people. It was a wonderful time for them to bring forth a word, share their testimonies.

One of the things the Lord put on Janet's heart was to spend time praying and talking with as she washed their hands and massaged them with cream. They were able to tell each person how much Jesus loved them and has promised never to leave them.

Marine Reach

This week most of the team had the opportunity to work with "YWAM Marine Reach" which is a medical mission project. Marine Reach travel between the Pacific Islands to provide free medical care for the people and share with them the love of Jesus. Over the 2 day period our team played a support role by visiting homes to invite people to the church for treatment and praying for them especially for healing and their salvation.

During the 2 days they saw 150 people come for treatment. It was an exciting time when they saw miracles of healing and people giving their lives to Jesus.
